Social Skills
The social skills service is the facilitation of play and appropriate social interaction between children with special needs and their "typical" peers. In addition, we teach children specific skills based upon each child's individual needs. This is accomplished in a controlled setting and is further reinforced when demonstrated by the child in their "natural" environment.

CLASS offers social skills training groups to school age children with a variety of needs. In a small group social context of 4-6 children, specific social skills such as abstract thinking, theory of mind, and perspective taking are addressed in a variety of levels, in a variety of contexts in a safe and nurturing environment.

Graduation to generalization is then reinforced in an applied, natural setting with neuro-typical peers.

Our next social skills group will take place on Saturdays from February 25th to March 31st, 2012. Click here for more detailed information.
